Venue: Divestco, Training Centre – 500, 440 - 2nd Ave SW
Time: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Audience:
This course should be taken by geologists, geophysicists, engineers and others in the upstream oil and gas business that want to understand how geostatistical models of reservoirs are constructed. Those interested in modeling realistic heterogeneity, quantifying uncertainty due to incomplete data, and assessing the consequent risk should take this course.
Course Description:
The principles of geostatistical reservoir modeling will be covered in lectures and brief demonstrations. Each participant will gain an appreciation for the variety of geostatistical techniques and tools available to address problems of heterogeneity modeling and uncertainty quantification. The limitations and assumptions of different methods will be revealed and discussed.
Course Peculiarities:
The course is not overly theoretical, but not case-study based. Glimpses of relevant case studies will be shown and the fundamental principles explained.
